Former President Mohamed Nasheed has elaborated his comments regarding not evicting flat tenants even though awarded unjustly.
In a tweet, the former president revealed his comments were regarding the flats awarded in Dhidhdhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll. Mohamed Nasheed further elaborated his comments were not made regarding the flats in Hulhumale' or any other flats provided by the government.
Addressing the function held at Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) Office in Dhidhdhoo, Nasheed said he does not support evicting flat tenants awarded by the current government, despite allegations it was done unjustly.
Following the aforementioned comments, media outlets and public welcomed the statement, mistaking it for the flats awarded in Hulhumale'.
