Parliamentarian Ahmed Mahloof has signed as a member of Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Speaking after joining MDP, Ahmed Mahloof expressed hope to work along with President-Elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and former President Mohamed Nasheed. Mahloof began his political career with former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom at Dhivehi Rayyithunge Party (DRP). Later, Mahloof followed Maumoon and formed Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
Mahloof dismissed himself from PPM after contradictions with the policies of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
