Speaker of Parliament Qasim Ibrahim and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Moosa Manik have paid a courtesy call on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. During the meeting held at President’s Office, Parliament Speaker and Deputy Speaker congratulated President Solih on assuming office.
Speaking during the meeting, President Solih expressed gratitude towards the speaker and the deputy speaker for organising and holding a successful swearing-in ceremony. President Solih extended hope the parliament will uphold the best practices of democracy and be exemplary.
Moreover, during the meeting, Parliament Speaker Qasim Ibrahim assured to cooperate with the president and the government to ensure the peace and sovereignty of the country.
