Ministry of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi has discussed with officials of Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) regarding the flats constructed in Hulhumale’ for military personnel.
During the meeting, Defence Minister Mariya inquired the latest updates regarding the construction of the flats. Further, discussions also focused on boosting the construction process and ways to complete the project sooner.
Even though the project to provide housing for military personnel and their families began in 2013, the agreement was suspended following a violation by the contractor. However, the project was contracted to Island Expert Private Limited and restarted in 2016.
The 3-bedroom flats are built for luxury standards consisting of 3 towers.
