Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has decided to stop taking the USD 3,235 as a fee for taxi boards.
Speaking at a press conference, Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Aishath Nahula said 3 goals have been achieved from the goals set for the first 7 days. In this regard, Minister Nahula revealed taking fees for taxi boards have been stopped, closed harbour areas in the lagoon of Male’ City and towing unused vehicles parked on the streets have been initiated in the first few days of the new government.
While there are several pledges set to be achieved within the first 100 days of the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, it includes many transport-related pledges varying from minimising the domestic airfare to compiling a transport master plan for the whole country.
