Parliament has forwarded the names of cabinet appointees of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to Government Oversight Committee for evaluation. The Government Oversight Committee will evaluate the 19 cabinet ministers and the Attorney General and submit a report on its findings to the Parliament floor.
The names appointed to the ministers must be sent to parliament within seven days since the appointment for reviewing, according to the Article 129 of Constitution. The Maldivian Constitution requires the cabinet appointees to be backed by the Parliament.
The cabinet of President Solih consists of 19 ministers and the Attorney General.
