Home Minister meets correctional officials

Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has met officials of Maldives Correctional Service.

During the first ever meeting held by the newly appointed home minister with the officials of Maldives Correctional Service, the officers disseminated information about the operations of the facility. Moreover, discussions were held to further enhance the services of the institutions in the coming days. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Prisons Hassan Zilal, Directors of Prisons and Commissioned Officers.

Prior to the meeting, Home Minister Imran noted the state of Maldivian prisons have deteriorated to the extent that people completing prison sentences might come out weaker than they were before incarceration and vows to ensure to reform the prison system.
