Parliament of Maldives has decided to postpone the recess until all pending work are completed.
The ongoing sittings are of the last term of parliament for 2018. The third term of the parliament will end in November, according to the latest amendment brought to parliament regulations.
However, Parliament Speaker Qasim Ibrahim said while the last term of the year is underway, important matters related to the new government are being submitted to the parliament. He further revealed the decision to postpone the recess was made after discussions with the coalition leaders.
The decision to extend the third term until December 5 was passed with the vote of 70 parliamentarians.
