Government appoints Managing Directors to 3 state-owned enterprises

The Government of Maldives has appointed managing directors to 3 state-owned enterprises. Managing directors were appointed to State Trading Organisation (STO), Male' Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC) and Island Aviation Services Limited (IASL), according to President of Privatisation and Corporatisation Board (PCB) of the Maldives Mohamed Nizar

In this regard, former Undersecretary at President’s Office and former CEO of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) Hussain Amr Mohamed was appointed as the Managing Director of STO. Meanwhile, former Managing Director of STO Adam Azim was appointed as the Managing Director of MWSC. Furthermore, the former head of Maldivian Holidays, the Travel Bureau of IASL Mohamed Rizvv was appointed as the Managing Director of IASL.

In the first two weeks of the new government, a number of changes have been brought to the board of state-owned enterprises. In this regard, former CEO Ali Waheed was appointed as the Managing Director of Dhiraagu, first Maldivian telecommunications company.
