Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi has stated if corruption becomes common in a state, it will create unnecessary chaos and cause challenges in implementing and sustaining constitutional law.
In his national address commemorating International Anti-Corruption Day, Chief Justice Ahmed Abdulla Didi said if corruption spreads, it will challenge the legal system, adding it will defame the investigative authorities and authorities mandated to uphold the rule of law.
Noting to maintain a successful society with established societal and economic justice, it is important to fight against corruption, the chief justice called every individual to work against corruption. Highlighting corruption will slow down the country’s progress, in terms of development and economy, the chief justice noted corruption will also destroy the people’s trust and respect for the government, state and the administration.
On conclusion, he called to maintain the justice system free from corruption and influence.
