Indian Vice President pays courtesy call on President

The Vice President of India Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has assured President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih of India’s continuous support to Maldives’ development efforts in all areas. Vice President made the assurance at the courtesy call paid on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. The meeting was held today at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, India.

During the call, discussions were held on the close and friendly relationship shared between the Maldives and India, which is based majorly on historical and cultural bonds. President Solih and the Indian Vice President also spoke on matters of mutual interest.

President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed are currently on a State Visit to India, being made on the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. President Solih and First Lady are being hosted at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, as special guests of the Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.
