Male' City Mayor Shifa Mohamed has revealed several issues have been identified following the initiation of an inspection of the construction sites in Male' City.
Speaking to media regarding the inspection process initiated by Male' City Council, Shifa Mohamed noted it has been identified that safety nets are not laid and the nets are damaged in some construction sites. The mayor also said some construction sites use previously issued safety boards from other authorities, even though the city Council is now responsible in issuing safety boards.
Moreover, Shifa revealed there are issues of construction waste in the area, even after the construction is completed. 23 teams are inspecting the construction sites in the Greater Male' Region, with 161 sites inspected so far, according to the city council.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has instructed all relevant authorities to lead a full inspection of all construction sites and take necessary actions against those in violation of the current guidelines.
