Former President Yameen to form a new political party

Former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has revealed plans to form a new political party aiming to ease the supporters.

Speaking at a press conference held by Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), Abdul Yameen said works of forming the new political party are being done by him and his close allies. He further said the decision to form a new party is made as the future of PPM is still undecided and waiting until the case is closed is not an option right now.

Moreover, leader of PPM Yameen noted even though works of forming a new party are underway, works of PPM will be continued without any interruptions. Former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has filed a case at Civil Court alleging the current leadership of PPM is invalid.
