President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has arrived back in Maldives, on conclusion of state visit to India. The visit was made on the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed were officially welcomed on the state visit at a ceremony held on Monday, at the Presidential Palace Rashtrapati Bhavan. They were officially received during the ceremonial welcome by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
As part of the state visit, President Solih and Prime Minister Modi led the official talks between the government of Maldives and the government of India. Four key documents were also exchanged between the two governments as part of the state visit.
Later on Monday evening, President Solih met with the President of India and held discussions to further solidify the existing bilateral relations between the Maldives and India. Further, Indian Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj paid courtesy calls on President Solih.
During the state visit, President Solih and First Lady Fazna were hosted at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, as special guests of Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.
