Vice President Faisal Naseem has Malé Water and Sewerage Company Private Limited (MWSC) and inquired about the company’s operations.
During his visit, the vice president met with the senior management of the company, where he was briefed on the work undertaken by the company. The vice president also toured the company office, and met with the staff.
Speaking about the meeting, Managing Director of MWSC Adam Azim revealed discussions were held about further enhancing the services provided by the company. In this regard, Azim said the changes needed to be brought to the state-owned company was shared with the vice president. He further added the vice president assured the government will work towards solving the issues faced in expanding the services of the company.
Speaking to the media, the managing director revealed the water and sewerage system established in Male’ City was aimed at a population of 100,000 people. However, noting the population has now doubled in the capital city, he added numerous difficulties and obstacles are faced for the company to be efficiently in operation.
During the meeting, Vice President Faisal Naseem was accompanied by Minister of Environment Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan.
