Government trying to retrieve the trade agreement signed with China

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed the free trade agreement signed with China is nowhere to be seen.

Addressing the press at the President’s Office, President Solih said the details of the agreement are unknown and efforts are underway to retrieve the document. However, the president noted he does not believe there would a clause in the agreement that would danger the security and sovereignty of the country.

The free trade agreement with China was signed on December 7. A further 12 agreements were signed with the government of China as part of the agreement.
