Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has paid a courtesy call on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Japan Taro Aso.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Finance of Japan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Shahid discussed various aspects of the bilateral relations between the two countries. Minister Shahid also thanked the Government of Japan for the close and friendly manner in which it has always regarded the Maldives. The deputy prime minister reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to implementing the vision articulated by President Mohamed Ibrahim Solih for further economic and social development of the Maldives.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer, Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Embassy of Maldives in Japan.
