State expenditure recorded at USD 1.532 billion

The government of Maldives has revealed its expenditure amounts to over USD 1.532 billion by the end of last week.

The state expenditure is recorded at USD 1.532 billion from January 1 to December 22, according to the weekly fiscal developments published by Ministry of Finance. The amount includes USD 1.066 billion as recurrent expenses and USD 465.59 million as capital expenditure.

The largest amount from recurrent expenditure was spent as salary and pension which amounts to over USD 543 million, according to statistics. Meanwhile, largest amount of from capital expenditure was spent on Public Sector Investment Programme (PSIP) which amounts to over USD 362 million.

Moreover, the state received nearly USD 1.3 billion as revenue which included USD 944 million received as tax, according to the weekly fiscal developments.
