Elections Commission of Maldives has granted permission to form Peoples Action Party.
The permission to form the new political party was given to Shuaib Ali Rasheed, according to member and spokesperson of Elections Commission Ahmed Akram.
In a tweet, the electoral body said permission to form Peoples Action Party was granted as the necessary documents were submitted to commission.
Previously, Shuaib Ali Rasheed submitted documents to form Maldives Action Party. However, the submission was rejected as the Elections Commission found the name not suitable for a political party.
The commission has also rejected the submission to form The Great Green Connection, as the name does not represent the nature of a political party.
