President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has visited Naifaru in Lhaviyani Atoll.
During the visit, President Solih met with the Naifaru Island Council and was briefed on the efforts and the future plans for the development of the island. The president also enquired on the challenges being faced by the council and the difficulties faced by the island communities.
Prior to visiting Naifaru, President Solih visited Dhuvaafaru in Raa Atoll and met with members of the Dhuvaafaru Island Council and Un'goofaaru Island Council. He also attended the National Unity Day function held in Dhuvaafaru.
The president also made an unofficial visit to his birth island, Hinnavaru in Lhaviyani Atoll, for the first time since assuming office last month.
As the last part of his two-day tour to some of the islands, the president visited Hen'badhoo in Noonu Atoll, where initiated sanitation services in the island. He also met with the Hen'badhoo Island Council.
