The government has commenced efforts to establish a household renting law in Maldives.
Ministry of Housing and Urban Development have announced for an interest party to draft the Tenancy Act of Maldives. The housing ministry has asked interested applicants to submit bid proposals before January 10.
The hiked rent in Male' area is an unaddressed issue which is of huge public concern. Even though several efforts were made in the past, no permanent solution has been found to the issue.
