Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM) Ali Khalid has stated the aim of the new management is to create quality content, rather than introducing new services.
Speaking to PSM News in commemoration of the 56th anniversary of Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu, the newly appointed managing director said the popularity of the state-owned media channels and services has decreased over the years. In this regard, Ali Khalid expressed the main aim of the new management will be to undo the mistakes made while running the company and create content that are more acceptable in the public.
Noting efforts are underway to formulate plans to create unbiased content, especially in news and current affairs, Ali Khalid said PSM has the capacity and the will to produce materials that would be well received by the public. He also appreciated the reassurances from President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to allow the operation of the state media as mandated in the Public Service Media Act.
Moreover, Ali Khalid extended congratulations to past and present staff of Dhivehi Raajjeyge Adu, as today celebrates 56 years since the radio station was introduced.
