Maldives Police Service has commenced a special operation, utilising its dog squad, to stop the use of liquor and drugs in the Greater Male' Region.
The police service has been checking the vehicles crossing the Sina-Male' Bridge, as part of the operation. In this regard, the dog squad checked the vehicles travelling from Male', Hulhule' and Hulhumale'.
Speaking to PSM News, police revealed some places have also been checked upon intelligence information.
The operation, initiated by Drug Enforcement Department, is conducted to provide safety and protection for the community.
