Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has revealed several housing units built as part of the social housing project lack basic utilities.
Speaking on a programme aired on PSM News, representatives of housing ministry stated the housing units will be handed over after installing all the utilities, adding efforts are underway to handover the flats to the respective tenants. It is an electoral pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to handover the flats to the most deserving tenants during the first 100-days of the administration.
Speaking on the social housing project, Minister of State for Ministry of Housing and Urban Development Ahmed Nasheed stated it has been noticed the flats constructed in the islands lack the basic utilities needed for living such as water and electricity.
