Police introduces online portal for public suggestions

Maldives Police Service has introduced an online portal to inquire public feedback in efforts to enhance the services of police. The online portal was officially launched by Acting Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed.

Addressing the ceremony, the acting commissioner said the aim of the online portal is to provide the public with a platform to comment on the services of police and to engage more with the public. Mohamed Hameed noted the public can access the portal and make suggestions until February 15, assuring all suggestions will be considered and addressed when compiling the strategic plan of the police force. He noted the public can make suggestions via the portal even after February 15, which will then be directed to the relevant departments to be addressed.

The online portal was introduced as part of the 100-day pledge policy of the government, under the efforts to reform the police force. Suggestion forums, focus group meetings and police reform symposiums are in the pipeline to identify the areas to further enhance the institution, according to the police.
