President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has made two appointments at the level of State Ministers.
The appointments include, Ifham Hussain as Minister of State for Gender, Family and Social Services. Ifham Hussain attained Masters of Education from University of Southern Queensland and also completed Bachelor’s Degree in Early childhood from University of Southern Queensland.
Moreover, Ifham Hussain received the International Award Princess Haya for special education in May 2015 in Dubai. She also received the Disability Award in 2016, from Ministry of Gender and Family, under the category; professionals providing technical support to children and persons with disability. In addition, she also received a national award in 2017, for the category of participation and contribution for women in social sector. Ifham Hussain was previously at the post of Managing Director at the Maldives Autism Association.
The President also appointed Khadeeja Shabeen as the Deputy Attorney General at the Attorney General’s Office.
Khadeeja Shabeen attained Master of Laws from National University of Singapore and also completed Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from University of Melbourne. Khadeeja Shabeen is currently working as a freelancer in the legal sector and has previous work experience at the President’s Office, Attorney General’s Office and several other legal firms.
