President appoints Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs, Deputy Commissioner of Prisons

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed Shafiu Ali as Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs.

Shafiu Ali has previously served in the education sector, as a secondary teacher and higher secondary teacher, leading teacher and as a principal. He has attained Bachelor of Teaching - Secondary from the Maldives National University (MNU).

Moreover, President also appointed Ibrahim Mohamed Didi as Deputy Commissioner of Prisons as Hassan Zilal resigned from the post on December 25, 2018.

Ibrahim Mohamed Didi started serving at Maldives Correctional Service in 2006. The last post he served before the appointment was Superintendent of Prisons. He has completed a Bachelor in Shaia and Law (Honours).
