The administration has abolished Public Service Works, Department of Infrastructure Development and shifts the tasks of both institutions under Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure. The decision was made on January 2, according to the President's Office.
Previously, both Public Service Works and Department of Infrastructure Development functioned as two separate departments under planning ministry.
Furthermore, Maldives Road Development Corporation (MRDC) was abolished last March and its tasks were transferred under Public Service Works by the previous administration. The action automatically shifted the employees and the tasks of MRDC under planning ministry.
