Pakistan reiterated desire to work closely with Maldives

Pakistan has reiterated desire to work closely with the administration of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

During the courtesy call on Vice President Faisal Naseem at the President's Office, Ambassador of Pakistan to Maldives, Vice Admiral (Retd.) Waseem Akram returned mutual warm sentiments and congratulated the Vice President on assuming office. Furthermore, the ambassador noted the success of the medical camp held last year by the Embassy of Pakistan in Maldives and expressed his eagerness to organise a new one this year.

During the call, the vice president noted the existing brotherly ties between the Maldives and Pakistan. The vice president and the ambassador discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between Maldives and Pakistan on a range of bilateral issues, placing special emphasis on the areas of trade, education, sports and health.

Concluding the call, the vice president expressed gratitude for the continued support and assistance from Pakistan to the Maldives, whilst reiterating hope the already strong bonds between the two countries will continue to strengthen in the coming years.
