President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed hope the students will gather knowledge, and learn and experience more during the academic new year 2019.
In a tweet to welcome the academic new year, President Solih wished the students success during 2019. He also advised the students to respect and care for each other.
The academic new year began in Maldives with over 73,035 students in 213 school across the country. The administration has initiated several programmes for the academic year, including inaugurating a pilot project to provide breakfast to students.
