Supreme Court of Maldives has introduced Juvenile Justice Regulation.
In a circular, the Supreme Court revealed all powers of establishing justice is granted to the op court, adding it also mandates to ensure justice swiftly and in an unbiased manner.
The Supreme Court emphasised it is a responsibility of the highest court to ensure everyone is granted justice. In this regard, Supreme Court noted it is mentioned in Article 9 of Child Protection Act that a separate system must be established to investigate every crime must to give proper punishments.
Supreme Court revealed the Juvenile Justice Regulation was established to serve the aforementioned matter after reviewing the constitutional and legal contents under the powers bestowed to Supreme Court by the constitution.
