MoU signed with UAE on Establishing a Joint Cooperation Committee

Maldives and UAE sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on establishing a Joint Cooperation Committee.

The MoU was signed by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Abdulla Shahid and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of UAE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as part of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih’s current visit to the gulf state. The document was signed at a ceremony held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The MoU will further strengthen the existing fraternal ties between the two countries by promoting cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. The collaboration will facilitate the realisation of common goals and aid in increasing the capacity for growth of the two nations, according to the Maldivian foreign ministry.

The government of Maldives said the signing marks a significant landmark of the strong bond effusively cherished by the two countries.

President Solih is UAE on invitation from Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of Armed Forces of UAE His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to attend the Zayed Sustainability Awards Ceremony and the Inauguration of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
