President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed aspiration to focus on renewable energy in Maldives. President Solih made the statement during the courtesy call made by Minister of Energy and Industry of UAE Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei.
Speaking at the call, Minister Suhail Mohamed Faraj Al Mazrouei stated UAE is willing to support such initiatives on renewable energy and mentioned support to many other large scale renewable projects around the world. He also noted how the price of electricity generated through renewable energy has decreased significantly in the recent years.
Moreover, the minister expressed great potential for renewable energy in Maldives and that readiness of UAE to support these initiatives and projects.
