Maldivians have opportunity to succeed at international jobs: President

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has underscored Maldivians have the opportunity for international jobs and have acquired the necessary education and training.

While meeting the Maldivian community residing in UAE, President Solih underlined the vast array of jobs being performed by Maldivians abroad, including sectors such as aviation, trade, tourism, education and hospitality. Speaking in this regard, the president encouraged those aspiring for employment abroad, to pursue quality education and necessary training in the desired fields, and to always work hard towards their dreams with steadfast determination.

Furthermore, the president revealed the administration is working with other gulf countries, on facilitating similar ease of travel for Maldivians, noting a high number of local professionals were employed overseas at various high-level jobs, at renowned institutes.

In his speech, the president highlighted the foreign policy of his administration, adding the international community was not most welcoming towards the Maldives at the time of his assumption of office. He expressed his administration always prioritises maintaining good relations with all friendly and complying countries to international declarations and universal guidelines.

President Solih, on behalf of all Maldivians, expressed gratitude to the President of UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the government of UAE for authorising 30-days on arrival visa for Maldivians, starting from January 1. He further said Maldives and UAE shared close brotherly bonds.

President Solih is on an official visit to UAE on invitation from Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of Armed Forces of UAE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to attend the Zayed Sustainability Awards Ceremony and the Inauguration of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
