Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage Yumna Maumoon has called to create more opportunities to showcase local literature talents globally.
In the national address commemorating the 30th National Poetry Day, Minister Yumna Maumoon stated poetry is the most delicate art in the field of literature, adding the traditional heritage must be preserved for years to come. In this regard, Minister Yumna noted the importance of remembering and appreciating the works of traditional poets who left this world with invaluable lessons in forms of poetry.
Moreover, Yumna Maumoon called to develop and improve the works of poets and to showcase their talents globally. She said every poet needs to be celebrated and they are praiseworthy.
Today marks the 30th National Poetry Day. Maldives began celebrating the day on 1989.
