Speaker of Parliament Qasim Ibrahim has discussed with UK Ambassador to Maldives James Dauris on enhancing ties between both countries. The discussions were held at a courtesy call paid by the UK ambassador on parliament speaker.
During the call at the Parliament Secretariat, Qasim Ibrahim highlighted on the traditional strong ties between UK and Maldives, congratulating the efforts exerted by UK to open its embassy in Maldives. Moreover, the parliament speaker expressed gratitude towards the UK government for arranging easier visa process for Maldives. He also updated the UK Ambassador on the parliamentary elections.
Meanwhile, Ambassador James Dauris noted the relations between both countries will be enhanced in the future and expressed UK will always assist Maldives in all endeavours.
