Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid has highlighted the significant contributions of Australia to the socio-economic development of Maldives. The foreign minister made the remarks in the message sent to Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia Marise Payne on the occasion of Australia Day.
In his message, Minister Shahid extended warm greetings and good wishes to his Australian counterpart, the government and the people of Australia. Moreover, in the message, Minister Shahid noted over the years, as a close development partner, Australia has made significant contributions to the socio-economic development of Maldives. He said Maldives and Australia continue to share friendly relations based on mutual understanding and goodwill.
Further, the minister expressed confidence ties of friendship between the two countries will bring forth many opportunities for collaboration in the future.
