Water Solutions Private Limited has completed a laser scan of Male' Friday Mosque. This is the first time a laser scan was done on a heritage site in Maldives.
Built in 1658, Friday Mosque is a stunning Maldivian architectural masterpiece featuring magnificent coral stone carvings and exquisite lacquer work and calligraphy.
Ministry of Arts, Culture and Heritage contracted Water Solutions to conduct a laser scan and develop a video documentary of the mosque. The video documentation is done to study and preserve the heritage of the country for generations to come, according to the heritage ministry.
Water Solutions documented the details of the carvings and verses written on the mosque fully constructed using coral stones. Water Solutions interviewed researchers to make a documentary about the mosque and used cutting-edge technology to scan the mosque and its premises using laser. The laser scanning enabled the surveyors to take detailed 3D images of the mosque and premises. The survey on the mosque is a corporate social responsibility initiative by Water Solutions.
