President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has assured the administration will inquire about the needs of the people so that the government could prioritise the plans accordingly and work with the people as closely as possible. The president made the statement during a meeting held with Fonadhoo Island Council in Laamu Atoll.
During the meeting, the members of the council briefed the president on the administration of the council and moreover informed him on the challenges faced in carrying out the mandate of the council. The members also briefed the president on the aspirations and requests of the people of Fonadhoo in developing the community.
In a separate meeting with the heads of some institutions in Fonadhoo, the president inquired about the current situation and the challenges faced in carrying out the mandate of the institutions. Further discussions were held on finding solutions to tackle the problems at hand.
Speaking at the meeting, President Solih stated the meetings have brought to light many issues and concerns of the people and the administration would take necessary action after discussing with the relevant ministries.
