Minister of Fisheries, Marine Resources and Agriculture Zaha Waheed has revealed the ice needed for fishermen will be made available from Addu Fisheries Complex within the next two weeks. The fisheries minister made the remarks at a meeting held with the fishermen of Addu City.
During the meeting, fishermen briefed the minister on the condition of the fisheries sector in the area and the difficulties faced in selling and storing fish. Responding to the complaints, Minister Zaha said the issues can be solved with collective efforts from Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO) and the government. In this regard, Minister Zaha Waheed added within the next two weeks, ice needed for fishermen will be made available from the Addu City Complex.
She also toured the Addu Fisheries Complex. The minister was accompanied by Mayor of Addu City Abdulla Sadiq, acting Managing Director of MIFCO Ismail Fauzee and other senior personnel of the sector.
