A police training institution to be established within one year

Acting Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed has revealed a police training institution will be established within a span of one year.

Addressing the Passing Out Parade of the 30th Police Recruit Training Course, the acting police commissioner highlighted an institution that would provide all the facilities to train police officers is being established in Addu City. He noted the institution is established with the assistance from the government of India and upon completion, it would be the first modern police training academy in Maldives.

The acting commissioner said the training of police officers needs to be enhanced in efforts to ensure the trained police officers are capable to maintain peace and stability in the community, provide security and can properly implement the rule of law in the country.
