Elections Commission has revealed 1,100 votes can be cast to each ballot box in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Speaking to PSM News regarding the preparations of the upcoming elections, spokesperson and member Ahmed Akram said in the past election, the queues were very long and took a lot of time to vote. Akram revealed the commission is exerting major efforts to solve the issues noticed in the presidential election 2018. In this regard, Akram said the commission has decided the most number of voters who can cast votes for a single box will be 1,100. He noted the decision will shorten the queues and take less time to cast the vote.
Following the decision of the electoral body, the number of ballot boxes to be placed will be increased. Akram expressed the commission is enhancing efforts to ease the voting procedure. In this regard, he added if the voting population at a single centre is higher than 500, two separate setups will be placed.
The parliamentary elections is scheduled to be held on April 6.
