Elections Commission has expressed the ceremony held to launch its new logo and colour was not a waste of funds.

The ceremony held to launch the logo and colour of logo was widely criticised by the general public and politicians alike, describing it as wasteful expense from the commission budget.

Responding to the comments, spokesperson and member of Elections Commission Ahmed Akram stated the information spread on media are completely false, adding the ceremony was held cost-free. Noting any effort to make changes relevant to development and the ideology of people is not a waste, Akram assured Elections Commission is an institution which spends efficiently without any wasting.

Furthermore, Akram revealed the ceremony was held aiming to open the application window for contestants to run for the upcoming parliamentary elections and the commission utilised the opportunity to launch its new logo and colour. He also mentioned the commission holds ceremonies for every election to open application window for the contestants.
