Ministry of Finance has sought contractors to establish water and sewerage facilities in 8 islands.
The finance ministry issued a notice seeking contractors to establish water and sewerage facilities in Uligamu in Haa Alifu Atoll, Maroshi in Shaviyani Atoll, Ken'dhikolhudhoo in Noonu Atoll, Rasgatheemu in Raa Atoll, Hithaadhoo in Baa Atoll, Vandhoo and Kin'bidhoo in Thaa Atoll and Kan'duhulhudhoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll. Interested parties that win the bid must pay USD 9,680 as project bid security, according to finance ministry.
Moreover, the finance ministry is also seeming parties to establish water facilities in Nolhivaram in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Kan'ditheemu in Shaviyani Atoll and Alifushi in Raa Atoll. Meanwhile, the ministry is seeking parties to establish sewerage facilities in Foakaidhoo in Shaviyani Atoll. Finance ministry has allocated USD 4,840 per Island as project bid security of the four projects.
Noting all projects will be held on design and build policy, the ministry said the bidding process will be held as per International Competitive Bidding (ICB). While the parties can apply to win the projects before February 13, the bidding will begin on February 21.
Recently, finance ministry issued a notice seeking interested parties to conduct road development projects in 8 islands.
It is a pledge of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih to establish water and sewerage facilities in all islands during his presidential term.
