Candidates contesting in the upcoming parliamentary elections on Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) tickets have submitted candidacy forms at the Elections Commission.
The candidates marched from the MDP Headquarters to submit the candidacy forms at the electoral body. Vice President Amjad Musthafa accepted the forms on behalf of the commission.
The commission is legally bound to process the applications within 48 hours of submission. The deadline for submitting candidacy forms to the commission is February 21.
MDP has announced it will contest for 86 seats.
Election Commission has announced the parliamentary elections will be held on April 6.
