Home Minister appeals to put forth nationalism

Minister of Home Affairs Imran Abdulla has appealed to put forth nationalism above political conflicts. Home Minister Imran Abdulla made the remarks speaking at the official ceremony held to mark this year's Huravee Day. The ceremony was attended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih as the chief guest.

Speaking at the ceremony held at Huravee School in Hulhumale', Home Minister Imran stated political divisions are a challenge in maintaining peace. In this regard, the home minister called on everyone to put forth religion and nationalism to maintain peace and stability.

Shedding light on Huravee Day, Minister Imran expressed rather than using swords and knives as in the past, ideology must be used now to protect the peace and sovereignty of the country. He also expressed the nation cannot be protected with the narrow thinking of the citizens.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, cabinet ministers, senior officials of the government and school children attended the ceremony.
