Parliament Speaker discuss on easing Schengen visa for Maldivians

Speaker of Parliament Qasim Ibrahim has discussed easing Schengen visa for Maldivians travelling to Germany. The discussions were held during a courtesy call paid by German Ambassador to Maldives Joern Rohde on the parliament speaker.

During the meeting, the speaker highlighted the close bond between Germany and Maldives and discussed on areas which further needs enhancement. Moreover, the speaker noted Germany is an important market in the tourism sector of Maldives, requesting to establish an easier permanent visa process to Maldivians travelling to Germany, especially to attend the tourism fairs. He also thanked the ambassador for conducting a temporary visa centre in Maldives.

Furthermore, Ambassador Rohde was informed on the latest updates of the upcoming parliamentary elections. The ambassador assured the relations will be further boosted between the two countries.
