Administration will assist the completion of the King Salman Mosque

Vice President Faisal Naseem has assured the administration will assist the completion of the King Salman Mosque under construction with the assistance from the Government of Saudi Arabia.

The vice president visited the King Salman Mosque and Maaveyo Mosque in Male’ City. During the visit, he was briefed on the ongoing work progress of the mosque structures and the challenges faced in carrying out the projects.

The King Salman Mosque is a donation for Maldives by King of Saudi Arabia Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud. The mosque can hold 10,000 worshippers at once and the construction is contracted to a Turkish company. Upon completion, the 6-storey mosque will show Islamic culture and heritage.

Meanwhile, Maaveyo Mosque is reconstructed to hold 1,500 worshippers at once and the project is contracted to a local firm.
