Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Aishath Nahula has stated helmets will only be distributed to those who complete an awareness programme. The transport minister made the remarks at a programme aired on PSM News.
Speaking regarding the distribution of 5-thousand helmets pledged in the first 100-days pledge policy of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Minister Nahula revealed the helmets will only be distributed to those who complete an awareness programme. Noting the programme will encourage to abide by traffic regulations, the minister said the programme will be held for 3 or 4 hours.
The minister said although 5,000 helmets are distributed initially, more projects to distribute helmets will also be organised in the future.
