ACC probing five additional cases in connection with MMPRC scandal

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has revealed once the probe into the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC)'s corruption scandal concludes, questions for which the public demand answers would be addressed.

Answering a question posed by PSM News, Vice President of ACC Muavviz Rasheed said, the concerns raised regarding loose ends in the initial report are valid and that those would be tied up, once the additional five ongoing cases close. He maintained that, findings based on investigations of relevant authorities and information offered by private individuals, were shared with investigative authorities, even at the time.

Shedding light on other cases under investigation by ACC, Muavviz noted cases related to former Vice President Ahmed Adeeb, cases related to the Maafaru Airport development project, Fenaka Corporation Limited, Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), Sealife Flat Project and suspicious transactions reported by the Financial Intelligence Unit at the central bank, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA). Muaviz assured the swift conclusion of these cases.
